Many will know the grand ionic columns and Portland stone façade of the now redundant Birmingham Municipal Bank Head Office, but relatively few have ever ventured inside.
The stunning grade II listed building was built in 1933 and was the head office for the UK’s very first municipal bank, set up by Lord Mayor of Birmingham Neville Chamberlain.
Join us for a rare chance to see inside the former head office of one of Birmingham's great civic institutions, as we open its doors for one day only as part of Birmingham Heritage Week.
The doors will be open for public visitors from 10am-4pm - no booking is required.
We will also be offering a chance to see the spectacular vaults in the basement. We are not taking bookings, tours will be offered on a first come, first served basis. We expect a high demand for tours, but we will do everything we can to accommodate all visitors. Please be prepared for a short wait.
